It was brilliant — exactly what we needed at that time. A constructive feedback day that helped us move forward as a team. It brought out emotions, created clarity, and made me realise why things had felt so challenging as a leader.

What stood out was the realisation that we all have strengths and weaknesses — and that weaknesses aren’t something negative. They just show us how to delegate and support each other better. For one team member, it was a game changer: she discovered that what she thought were her flaws were actually valued strengths in our team.

Over the sessions, we grew closer. The energy became more collaborative, empathetic, accepting — and full of possibilities. I felt more confident as a leader. My team members took more responsibility. We trusted each other more. I feel we are becoming more open with one another. Some of us communicate in a more direct and systematic way, and because neurodiversity is valued as a strength in our team, people feel increasingly safe to be themselves. That’s a strong indicator of psychological safety.

There were honest reflections of how we felt, and we encouraged each other through constructive feedback. One of our team members often doubts their own abilities and expertise, so receiving positive, supportive feedback—from others and from me—in front of everyone seemed to lift the veil of self-criticism. It was a meaningful moment.

The strengths-matrix exercise had a real impact — visually seeing that, together, we have everything we need to be a successful team was powerful. It also helped me realise I don’t have to carry everything alone anymore.

After each session, I felt peaceful, hopeful, and proud.

Olen osalenud väga paljudel koolitustel ja teinud läbi ka hulga nn erinevaid isiksuse hindamise mudeleid, nagu: MBTI, JTI, Disc, 360 kraadi , Belbin – kõik on ka omamoodi väga head.

Mina olen ise aga väga praktiline, ratsionaalne inimene ja teooria on tore asi teada, kuid sellest võiks elus ka kasu olla. Kõikide nende mudelite puhul on suur mure see, et see ei tekita lihtsasti mõistetavat visuaali inimesest, mis aitab sul teda mõista. Visuaalid aga töötavad väga hästi ja selles osas pean mina Belbinit väga praktiliseks meeskonnatöö korraldamise ja hindamise vahendiks, sellest saavad kõik aru. Seda on võimalik kasutada kõikidel juhtimistasanditel. Seda tuleb võtta kui teenäitajat ja abimeest, mitte kui pühakirja ja absoluutset tõde.

Väga raske on leida koolitajat, kes räägib asjast ja reaalsetest probleemidest, aga Mats teeb seda väga hästi ja otsekoheselt – ilma keerutamata ja ilustamata, kitsaskohad on vaja luubi alla võtta ja välja juurida. Ilusa diplomaatilise jutuga tõehetk sind tavaliselt ei puuduta, kuid Mats rammib valupunkte ilma silma pilgutamata ja see on ülimalt vajalik. Lõpuks on probleemid tegelikult lihtsad, kuid neid mitte teadvustades ja nendest mitte rääkides teeme asjad keeruliseks. Ümbernurga juttu tõlgendame kõik erinevalt, kuid Mats suudab viia seltskonna ühise tõe tunnetuseni ja edasi on juba usalduse küsimus, kuidas me tegelikult käitume.

Mina olen täheldanud ilmselget muutust peale Belbini teema sissetoomist, et inimesed mõistavad üksteise käitumist, suudavad sellega arvestada ja muutuda tõhusamaks. See on igale meeskonnajuhile väga hea meetod ja abimees, ilma raketiteadusesse minemata 🙂
